As the end of term fast approaches, we know our schools are working hard to bring the year to a successful conclusion. To support you, our ySafe experts have updated their guidance on the upcoming Social Media changes, now featuring the very latest information. While enforcement of the new rules sits with the social media platforms, schools should be prepared for possible digital displacement, as students may turn to alternative apps or gaming chats not covered by the ban. That’s why it’s essential for staff to stay informed, for parents to receive clear communication, and for students to be supported in building healthy digital habits. Our latest steering, tools and guides are designed to help your school confidently navigate these important changes.

Within the Configuration | Calendar setting schools can now set different schedules for each day of the week, making it easier to reflect half days and varied timetables. Existing schedules will continue to work automatically - no action is needed.
Monitor
We're excited to announce that Linewize Monitor now supports Windows devices with ARM processors. Our new ARM-specific client ensures full compatibility with the latest generation of energy-efficient devices. Installation details will be released shortly for all Monitor customers.
Pulse
The new Pulse Word Cloud displays a helpful visual representation of aggregated student responses to the question, ‘Which of these (emotions) best describes how you are feeling?’ You can hover over a word to see how many students selected it, making it easy to spot trends at a glance while helping staff to respond quickly to those students who need the most support.
Linewize Filter / Monitor
Microsoft has ended support for Windows 10 as of October 14th. Following this, Linewize Connect will also discontinue full support for Windows 10, providing updates only for critical security issues.
Linewize Filter
We’ve updated our content filters to hide the AI Overview in Web Searches using Google and Microsoft Bing, helping schools prevent students from finding quick answers to homework or test questions. Note, while the CoPilot tab in Bing isn’t affected by this change, it can still be blocked using standard filtering rules in Linewize Filter.
Linewize Filter
Some AI chat apps can expose students to harmful or inappropriate content and promote unhealthy online interactions. The Unsafe AI Chat Content Filtering category in Linewize Filter lets schools easily block access to these emerging risks. Simply create a filtering policy and select Unsafe AI Chat to help keep your students safe and supported online.
The updated guide to the December 2025 social media changes for under-16s is a must-read for schools, with ySafe cyber safety experts offering practical guidance, new helpful school and parent resources, and ongoing support to help your school community confidently navigate this significant change.
