As Term 1 draws to a close, we hope you’re able to enjoy a well-earned break after a busy start to the year - welcoming new families, navigating NAPLAN, and managing the many activities that come with such a fast-paced term.
With so much happening, we know school teams are constantly balancing competing priorities, and sometimes key tasks can slip. Two important actions for your Linewize solutions this term are:
These steps help ensure your platforms are optimised for the academic year and allow us to provide the right training and support to the right people. If you haven’t had a chance to complete these yet, you can book a planning session with Suzi or David - we’re here to help!
We also recognise that many IT teams will use this quieter period to focus on project delivery and other priorities. To all of you, thank you for all your hard work in the many ways you serve and support your school community; the skills and knowledge each of your bring are invaluable and greatly appreciated!
School holidays often mean students spending more time on their devices. While this can be a challenge for parents, your school can play an important role in supporting families to reinforce healthy digital habits. Sharing relevant online safety resources such as Creating a Screen Routine ahead of the break is a simple but effective way to provide guidance that parents will genuinely value
We’re also looking forward to catching up with many of you at the 2026 AIS (now ISNSW) ICT Management & Leadership Conference, including at the official pre-conference social event, “MITIE NITIE.” We hope to see you there!
Informed by Global Insight, supporting Australian schools
While Linewize is part of a global cyber safety community, our focus here is firmly local. Each month, we cut through the noise to share only the cyber safety news, trends and practical tips that matter most for our Australian schools. That means clear, relevant updates you can actually use - from classroom-ready guidance to emerging online behaviours we’re seeing locally - so you can stay informed without being overwhelmed.
As staff head into the April break, it's worth encouraging teaching staff to take a few minutes to refresh their Classwize Focus Plans, so they can start Term 2 with clear expectations, fewer distractions, and more time for teaching.
To support teachers, we’ve also released two NEW Academy training videos (available from the Classwize platform) designed to make classroom management even easier:
Student Screens: Troubleshoot Devices with Ease
Quickly identify and resolve missing screens with real-time visibility and simple troubleshooting tools - no more guesswork.
Share Your Screen to Student Devices
Instantly share your screen to every device in the class to keep students aligned, engaged, and on task.
The upcoming April/Easter break is a perfect time to support parents in guiding their children toward healthy, balanced technology use. Your school’s Online Safety Hub is full of practical resources designed to inform, empower, and guide families:
In addition, the Qustodio parent tools give families practical ways to monitor and manage screen time, keeping students focused and safe while learning at home.
If your school hasn’t yet launched Qustodio to your parent community, now is the perfect time to speak with your Success Managers - Suzi or David to learn how you can share these invaluable resources and help parents feel confident supporting their children over the break.
Targeted training helps ensure everyone gets the most from the Linewize tools. Whether you have new team members or staff in new roles, now's a great time to forward plan your Linewize training for Term 2.
From IT to Teaching & Learning, Leadership and pastoral teams, your school's Linewize Cyber Safety agreement gives your school access to training that supports all your key staff roles. Your Linewize Success team can upskill your school teams by delivering consultative training, ensuring maximum adoption and effectiveness of the Linewize tools, data and reports you have access to.
You can help us deliver the right training and resources to your staff by taking a moment to update your school’s Key Contacts for 2026 (if you haven't already done so) by using this short form.
Linewize Filter
We've updated the Parent Dashboard in Linewize Filter to give you more visibility into how your parent community is engaging with your Linewize Parent program and Qustodio tools:
- Track adoption with real-time insights into how many families are connected
- Measure impact of your email campaigns and weekly communications
- Monitor growth with sign-ups over time
-Understand parent priorities through the most viewed apps and online safety articles
These insights make it easier to refine your school's parent communication strategy, strengthen parent engagement, and ensure your outreach is landing where it matters most.
Qustodio
Qustodio’s new Gaming Alerts feature gives parents timely notifications about voice chat in popular Windows games like Steam, Roblox, Valorant, and Fortnite. With clear summaries of potentially concerning interactions, parents can support safer, more informed online play.
Pulse
When Pause is active, students won’t be able to complete check-ins or submit help requests. If they do try to open Pulse, they’ll still be shown your external support options, so help is never out of reach.
If you’ve configured your school term dates in Pulse, it can automatically pause during the holidays, making it one less thing for your team to manage.
And if want to still have students able to complete check-ins during the holidays, just can switch OFF the auto-pause in your Pulse settings.
Need a hand checking your term dates or tweaking your external support resources? Just reach out to your Pulse Account Manager (accountmanagement-au@linewize.io).
Classwize
The new Lock to Page feature in Classwize gives teachers the ability to lock students to specific webpages during class time. Ideal for reading tasks, online assessments, or quizzes, it ensures students stay focused on exactly the resource you’ve set - no extra tabs or distractions.
Using Focus, teachers can apply Lock to Page to the whole class or selected students, keeping learning on track with just a few clicks. (Available for students on Chromebooks and Windows devices in Companion mode.)
Classwize
We've added an additional two new training videos for teachers - "Student Screens: Troubleshoot Devices with Ease", and "Share Your Screen to Student Devices". Both of these videos are available now from the Academy section of Classwize.
Linewize Filter
We’re excited to share the new Chromebook App Filter - giving schools greater control over app access on student Chromebooks.
This new inclusion helps Chromebook school manage and monitor installed apps, supporting safer, more focused learning on ChromeOS devices while giving you greater insight into student digital activity.
The filter expands protection beyond the Chrome browser, helping ensure filtering applies across the entire Chromebook device - not just within Chrome.
We’ve also included helpful articles to guide you through setup and make it easy to implement in your school.
